H/R al-Bukhari.

MENGAPA BUAH PINGGANG GAGAL

SESSIONS DESCRIPTION

SESSION 1: PHYSICAL LITERACY – HOW IMPORTANT IS IT? CURRENT RESEARCH INDICATIONS

This workshop investigates current research into physical literacy from both a health and performance perspective. Should a physical education curriculum be underpinned by physical literacy and what would that look like? Can the rise in obesity be partly addressed by an effective physical education programme in schools? This course offers delegates the opportunity to experience and develop knowledge in the following areas:

Physical literacy development
Philosophy for curriculum design
Current research indications
Projects incorporating a physical literacy approach
Motivation and enjoyment

SESSION 2: DEVELOPING PRACTICAL ABCs – TASTER SESSION

ABCs is a new programme which offers a unique CPD opportunity for infant/primary teachers delivered in a 2 hour workshop led by qualified instructors. The programme is supported by a set of carefully designed resource cards that will enable teachers/AOTTs to select appropriate material to use with specific classes dependent upon pupils developmental level, ability level, age and sex.
The rationale for developing this innovative and exciting programme is based upon substantial research which highlights the need to focus the development of physical literacy on ‘windows of accelerated adaptation’. These are periods of time when physiologically children are more susceptible
to specific physical developments.

This program would be extremely beneficial for those who work with children aged 5 – 14 through physical activity.

What is ABC’s?
AGILITY
BALANCE
COORDINATION
SPEED

Current concerns over an increase in obesity, combined with a reduction in physical activity for both children and adults make the delivery of physical education in schools critical. It has been suggested that the most crucial time to encourage and enable lifelong participation in physical activity is during early childhood and this programme provides a different, fun, appropriate and adaptable way to inspire and motivate young children to develop their physical literacy.
